As many of you know, Bloomsbury School District took part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on Tuesday, September 2, 2014. Students were asked to donate $1.00 to ALS in exchange for a vote to nominate the first teacher to take part in the Ice Bucket Challenge. On the day of the challenge, those students who donated had the chance to dump the bucket of cold ice water on 18 different faculty members. The laughter was infectious and the results were thrilling!
I am extremely pleased to report we raised $63.00 to donate to ALS! This may not appear to be a significant amount of money, but when parents and students are working hard to get ready for the first day of school, it is very difficult to remember to bring in a donation. Therefore, I’m extremely proud of the money we raised on the first day of school without advertising for the challenge. Thank you to our BES families for your kindness, your dedication, and teaching our children the meaning of giving back to those in need. We are all in this together to help our children be the best they can be!
